Rita (Ch Baywood Rendezvous at Cutwater, CGN, AWD) now adds Rally Excellent (RE) to her list of titles from the recent Red Deer show. This is a big achievement as she was scared in the ring last year when some over zealous spectators jumped up and cheered their local favourite, accidentally knocked the ring fence over as we were going into the ring! Since then when people clap or she goes near a ring fence she shies away. We continue to work through this so that Rita can achieve the great things she is capable of achieving!

At the same Red Deer show Baywood The Queen Z won Best Puppy in Breed in her first weekend of showing! Thank you Linda for great handling. Poor Kenya (Baywood I Like My Coffee Black) had me as a handler so we were the loser’s! LOL.

AND, big wins for our Poppy daughter, Sarah. She is now CHAMPION Baywood Sarah is Stellar. Sarah took Best of Breed all 3 days in her big girl hair cut. The best thing is her co-owner Rick groomed and showed Sarah himself!! Way to go Rick!!

Kalli (Ch Baywood Kosmic Rain, CGN, CD, AGI, AGIJ, WWD) earned 1st place High In Class with a perfect 100 score in Rally Advanced B today!

Rita (Ch Baywood Rendezvous at Cutwater, CGN, RA, AWD) earned 2nd place in Rally Excellent B today at the Camrose Dog Show!!

Mission entered his first agility trial recently (just as a test since he is not yet 2 years old). He did wonderful in Snooker and Q’d but in the Jumpers round he had too much speed for his handler and we had a few off courses. But handled the comings and goings and dogs, etc well. T had a great day at agility and completed his Starters Jumpers and his Starters Snooker at the DAL trial. Brenda is very proud of the boys and celebrated by soaking in an Epson bath that night after running 3 dogs. LOL!!

Congratulations to Carol and Sadie from all of Baywood on passing the Pet Therapy Dog evaluation at an old folks home with flying colours (she was "Bombproof" in their words). They just need to do three "practicums" to complete the certification. So shortly she will be an official Pet Therapy dog! This breed is known for their therapy and intuitive skills with Sadie as a prime example.

Top left to right: Brenda, T - (Ch Baywood Suits Me To a T, JWD, AgN), Rita - (Ch Baywood Rendezvous at Cutwater, CGN, RN, AWD), and Mission -(Ch Baywood Sask River Mission, JWD, AWD), Dawn and Teva (Baywood What’s It Teya, RN).

At the September OC Trial Andy and Max (Ch Baywood N Cutwater To The Max, RN, CGN, AgX, AgXJ, ATChC, ExST Bronze) again reached a milestone of achieving their Bronze Award of Merit in AAC agility under judge France Beckner.

WOW, the Edmonton Kennel Club outdoor show was a huge PWD success. Below are the names and titles of the PWD’s that entered Conformation, Rally, Obedience, CGN, Draft and AGILITY (my favorite). Most of these wins were 1st or 2nd place in their classes. We had them from 6 months to 10 years old working and showing off their stuff. So many positive comments from non PWD people about these great working dogs.

Max - Ch Baywood N Cutwater To The Max, RN, CGN, AgX, AgXJ, #1 PWD in CKC Agility 2009, ExST Bronze, ATChC (Agility Trial Champion of Canada): This weekend he achieved his 10 Excellent B Standards AG.M.X. and 10 Excellent B Jumpers with Weaves AG.M.X.J. by achieving both Master titles this gives Max his AG.M.CH. Agility Master Champion this is the highest level of CKC Agility.

Max showing the teamwork with his owner/handler Andy Gamache that won them the final leg of their CKC Agility Master Championship. We believe Max and Andy to be the first PWD team in Canada to achieve this prestigious title.

Calla - Ch Baywood Cutwater Calla Lily CGN, CD, RN, AGX, AGXJ, VMTRDC, AWD, ExST Bronze, ATChC, MADC, MGDC, MSDC, MJDC, NAC, NJC, NCC, APDT RL1, #1 Agility High in trial 2003 & 2004 at APWDC boosters and HIT 2004 at the PWDCC Specialty: Calla (10yr) came out to support the Porties running and came away with 2 very happy qualifying runs which puts her right on Max’s’ tail for achieving her Agility Master titles as well.

Calla is the number one Agility PWD in Canada for 2010. Last year her son Max was #1 and this year Max came in 2nd to his mom:) Age and experience can beat youth anytime apparently.

T – Ch Baywood Suits Me To a T, AGN: First ever agility trial and got his Novice Standard title in 3 straight runs and 2 Jumpers With Weaves. Yahoo for my boy.

Rita – Ch Baywood Rendezvous at Cutwater, RX, CGN: Finished her Championship and tried her CD but with all that coat outside in the sun just had to leave and go to the shade.

Teva – Baywood What’s It Teya, RN: Finished her Rally Novice title with a High In Class! Very proud of this girl’s achievements.

Sadie – Ch Baywood Urban Girl, CGN: With a novice owner at their first ever trial entered her CD and got 2 legs in high 190’s and lost the 3rd one by leaving the down and going to the shade also? Total strangers came up to her to comment on the great precision of this team.

And a final brag about my old boy Am/Cdn Ch Baywood Arrow of Glen Etine, CDX, CGN, AGX, AgJX, MAD, etc. Arrow came out of retirement for the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Canadian Nationals and got HIC Rally Excellent B and HIC Agility Excellent B Standard at 10 years old. Really did bring him out of the field, clean him up and went to the show after 3 years out of the ring. He can still strut his stuff and make momma proud!

So had a great few weeks of showing and everyone can be proud of their versatile dogs and how much fun they had in the summer shows in Alberta.

Congrats to Baywoods Testarossa Furrarri (aka Enzo) and Daria Biasotto who qualified to represent Saskatchewan at the AAC Canadain Nationals last week in Ontario. Enzo and Daria did exceptionally well. Daria has come home and is now building a regulation sized agility field to practice in. Watch for this team to go to the top!

At the Edmonton Kennel Club's annual summer show Baywood Obsession's Ode (Odin) completed his first three agility titles; Agility Novice (AgN), Agility Novice Jumpers (AgNJ), & Agility Intermediate Jumpers (AgIJ) along with being one qualifier shy of his Intermediate Agility title.

Not only that but Odin has also achieved three titles in AAC; Agility Dog of Canada (ADC), Starters Game Dog of Canada (SGDC) and Advanced Agility Dog of Canada (AADC).

Odin's mom, Sandy Busse, wishes to thank Cindy Gamache for her excellent handling/running of Odin - they make a great team. Congrats!!

Recently at the OC Agility trial Max obtained a very exclusive title, Agility Trial Champion of Canada (ATChC). Only 6 other PWD’s in the history of AAC agility have obtained this title so he joins a very elite group.

Congratulations to Ch Baywood N Cutwater To the Max, AGN, RN, AgX, AgJX, ATChC, #1 PWD in CKC Agility for 2009.

In typical Brenda multi-tasking fashion Baywood entered 3 dogs at NACA.

Day One results were as follows:
Ch Baywood Kosmic Rain, CGN, CD, RN, MAD, AgI, AgJI, WWD, got her first Advanced Rally leg with a 3rd in Class and tried out CDX for the first time.

Baywood Rendezvous at Cutwater, CGN, RN, AWD got her final Advanced B Rally leg and moves to Excellent.

Baywood What’s It Teya got her first Novice Rally leg.

Ch Baywood Crown Jewel got a Group 2nd her first show out as an adult. She turned one last week and adds this group placement to her 3 BPIG and Group 3rd and 4th as a puppy! She is a sister to Ch Baywood Paint the Town, who finished as a puppy with a Group placement also. To top it all off Jewel is #3 PWD in Canada right now!

Jewel winning BPIG
Day Two were as follows:
Rita moves up to Rally Excellent and earns her first Excellent leg making her #1 PWD in CKC Rally Obedience, Kalli gets her 2nd Rally Advanced leg to become the #2 Rally Obedience PWD in Canada, and Teva gets her 2nd Rally Novice leg.
Day Three were as follows:
Kalli competed in AAC agility today with Brenda instead of NACA and is 2/4. Only needs Snooker to get her AtCH!!!

Brenda attended the Saskatoon Dog show this weekend and finished Casa, now CH Baywood Sask River Jam, and Bentley, new CH Baywood Paint it Black! Also, Baywood Sarah, aka Stellar, got 4 points at her very first show. The judge commented on the quality of the PWD’s in the ring and was surprised to find out they were all Baywood dogs by the same breeder.

To continue in the Baywood working dog mindset, Rita, Baywood Rendezvous at Cutwater got 2 legs towards her Advanced Rally B title. Brenda was frantically practicing certain maneuvers before the class as she realized the last minute that Rita had no finish to the right? LOL. But, the lovely Rita caught on quickly when chicken was involved and managed to pull it off!

We had a great time and want to thank all the co-owners at the show for their support and commardarie! Had a great time which included a impromptu grooming seminar.

Off to an agility trial next weekend where Kalli will try for those elusive Master Snooker legs!

Baywood Crown Jewel got her CGC while visiting Scottsdale, AZ for the winter. It pays to keep these dogs busy, even on holidays!

Baywood Paint the Town, a 10month old co-owned male won Best of Breed and a Group 2nd! This was his first day ever of showing! Unbelievable and Brenda is over the moon as she showed him herself!

PUPPIES ARE HERE!! Java and Max welcomed a very healthy litter of 9 pups - 4 males (2 of which are curly) and 5 females (1 which is curly). Java is doing great. For nerws about the pups as they grow head over to our Puppy Updates section.

Baywood dogs had a blast at the PWDCA National Specialty in 2010.

Ch Baywood Kosmic Rain, CGN, RN, CD, WWD, AGI, AGNJ, MAD, etc. won SIX 1st place ribbons and qualifiers in all six Novice Agility classes she entered. Plus got a qualifiying leg in US Rally Novice.

Ch Baywood N Cutwater To The Max, CGN, RN, AGX, AGXJ, ExSt Bronze, MADC, MGDC, #1 PWD Agility CKC 2009 received three 1st placings in Novice Agility and a US Rally novice leg.

Ch Baywood N Cutwater Calla Lily, CGN, CD, AGX, AGXJ, AWD, RN, ExStBronze, ATChC, MADC, MGDC, MJDC, MTRDC, APDT RL1, HIT 2003 PWDCC Booster. HIT Agility 2004 PWDCC National Specialty received two 2nd’s, a 3rd and a 4th place in Novice Agility and a US Novice Rally leg at 10 years old!!

Baywood Sask River Jam did awesome with a 1st in futurity (females 9-12mths), 2nd in sweepstakes, and 3rd in Regular Class.

News from the Red Deer & District show - Ch Baywood Suits Me To a T, JWD won Best of Breed and made the cut in a very competitive Working Group on Saturday but it was Baywood Sask River Mission that took Best of Winners to T.

T and Mission won Breed and Working Group Brace on Saturday. Both boys showed exceptionally well together and I couldn't be any happier.

Baywood Sask River Jam (aka Casa) took Best of Breed Friday and Sunday for 3 more points towards her Championship.

All in all it was a very successful trip down.

Ch Baywood Watch Me Fly (aka Clipper) achieved his first Rally Novice leg his first time out at the recent Camrose show!

Brenda and the dogs had a very successful PWDCA National Specialty in the lovely San Luis Obisbo area. Oct 4-8, 2010.

Casa, Baywood Sask River Jam, won her futurity class, came in second to her half sister, was the eventual winner of the Sweepstakes, and was 3rd in the Regular class!!! Thank you so much to Lana Langley for showing her!

T, Ch Baywood Suits Me To A T, ended up lame the first few days with an abscess but by the third day won a 3rd in his competitive Regular Male class!! And that was with Brenda showing!!

T and Mission, Baywood Sask River Mission, won 2nd in the Brace class also. They were a great team and performed beautifully! We had lots of compliments!

THEN there is Kalli, Ch Baywood Kosmic Rain, CGN, RN, CD, AGI, AGNJ, etc. who won 1st place in all 6 of the 6 classes in agility!! What a girl! Plus, she qualified in Novice rally between Brenda showing the other dogs in breed.

So we made it safely home again to rest. Thanks to Elodie and Zoe for traveling with me and all my friends for helping me show 5 dogs!! Couldn't have done it without my friends. = )

Brenda has made the tough decision to downsize her pack so she is offering one of her conformation/agility tollers, CAN CH Baywood Flash of Glen Etive aka Flash, for sale. If you would like more information about Flash please contact Brenda.

Congrats to Baywoods Testarossa Furrarri (aka Enzo) and the Biasotto family on achieving his AAC Agility Trial Championship of Canada (ATChC) on September 25th in less than 6 months! Then to top it all off Enzo achieved his Masters Steeplechase Dog of Canada (MSCDC) title just two weeks later. Amazing achievements!

On August 21 & 22 the gang went to Vancouver Island where we 100% successful. Mission and T got their Junior Water Dog titles and Rita achieved her Apprentice Water Title. This water trial was the first PWDCC one in Western Canada and not only was Brenda a participant she also took on trial secretary duties.

Mission (a Baron son) got his Junior Water Dog title on Sunday, amazing since he had never been on a boat before. Once the stay is better he will be ready for Apprentice, right now he is all about movement. His house brother, T, (a Preto son) got his Junior on both Saturday and Sunday while T’s mother (a Homer daughter) also got her Apprentice. Outstanding results for some truly gifted dogs. Go view the gallery to see some pictures of them all in action.

Brenda and Kalli attended the 2010 AAC National Championships in August at Spruce Meadows, Calgary, where they met lots of dogs and had great fun.

In July Brenda and Kalli traveled to Flowing Lake in Washington State for the PWD Water Trials. Both had a great time!

In June at the AB/NWT Regional Championships Kalli qualified for the 2010 AAC National Championships. What an achievement!

Brenda and Arrow celebrated Arrow's ATChC title in the snow at Dogs At Large's trial on May 29th. What ended up being called the "Snowmaker Trial" was obviously eventful as dogs had to run in rain, sleet, and a bit of snow on the Saturday. None of this affected Arrow as he handily got that last needed Qualifier to become AAC's newest Agility Trial Champion of Canada.

Congrats to Tracy Brown and her Max x Brooke girl, Rain, for winning Best Puppy in Show at the Vernon Kennel Club Show.

Congratulations to Cindy & Andy Gamache for their bitch Baywood Wave of Pawz achieving her Canadian Championship in April 2010.

ABBY CROSSES OVER THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

Abby (Ch Cutwater Obsession) who recently turned 17 years old on Sunday, February 7th, passed away a few weeks later of old age. Abby was one of Baywood's foundation females and had great grandsons/grandaughters achieving their Championships. She will be sorely missed by Baywood and Abby's family.

Congratulations to Poomse & Flash (Cutwater Start Me Up) 's puppies from her first litter for achieving their Championships. Both Jump and Gabby did this feat at the same show on the same weekend in Calgary. This is Baywood's first litter where all pups were Champions!
