![]() This beautiful curly girl out of the Poppy x Buddy litter born April 27th is available for sale. Please contact Brenda if you are interested. Brenda and Arrow celebrated Arrow's ATChC title in the snow at Dogs At Large's trial on May 29th. What ended up being called the "Snowmaker Trial" was obviously eventful as dogs had to run in rain, sleet, and a bit of snow on the Saturday. None of this affected Arrow as he handily got that last needed Qualifier to become AAC's newest Agility Trial Champion of Canada. ![]() Poppy (and artificial insemination daddy, Buddy) welcomed 8 puppies on April 27th. There is a nice mix of curlies and wavies and Poppy is doing great as always. ![]() Curly pup ![]() Wavy pup Congrats to Tracy Brown and her Max x Brooke girl, Rain, for winning Best Puppy in Show at the Vernon Kennel Club Show. ![]() Congratulations to Cindy & Andy Gamache for their bitch Baywood Wave of Pawz achieving her Canadian Championship in April 2010. ![]() ABBY CROSSES OVER THE RAINBOW BRIDGE Abby (Ch Cutwater Obsession) who recently turned 17 years old on Sunday, February 7th, passed away a few weeks later of old age. She will be sorely missed by Baywood and Abby's family. ![]() Congratulations to Poomse & Flash (Cutwater Start Me Up) 's puppies from her first litter for achieving their Championships. Both Jump and Gabby did this feat at the same show on the same weekend in Calgary. This is Baywood's first litter where all pups were Champions! ![]() Jump & Gabby today ![]() Jump at 6 weeks ![]() Gabby at 6 weeks Baywood Kennels is now taking reservations for spring puppies from Poppy. We are expecting some amazing sport dogs from this litter. Once again - we have NO planned breedings for our tollers in the future but Arrow (AM/CAN Ch Baywood Arrow of Glen Etine, CDX, CD, CGC, AGX, AGXJ, RX) is available for stud services. This wonderful wavy boy is an example of co-owner Janice’s breeding. Her wonderful female Brisa (CH Baywood Quaryside Brisa, ADC) was bred to the famous Baron (Am Ch Cutwater the Big Apple, CD, RN, WWD) and Tim was one of the resulting puppies. ![]() ![]() This show boy will be going to a working home to carry on in his parents tradition. He is shown here in both the puppy coat and the lions clip so that he could be evaluated when he was selected as “Pick of the Litter” Max just recently achieved his Expert Standard Bronze title (ExST Bronze) in AAC which involved running 25 Master Standard courses clean and fast. Go Max! Congratulations to Cindy & Andy for the outstanding showing of their female, Paws, who won Best of Breed at the Camrose dog show in October/09. ![]() Paws is currently training in agility and will certainly be a superstar like the rest of Baywood's dogs. Congrats to Paws littermate, Molly, for finishing her Championship also. Both Paws and Molly were out of Baywood's Max. Sandy Busse's two porties had a great end to 2009 with her girl, Bella, achieving her Master Agility Dog of Canada (MADC) title and her baby boy, Odin, completing his Agility Dog of Canada (ADC) & Starters Game Dog of Canada (SGDC) titles in AAC. Not only that but Bella also finished her Agility Intermediate Jumpers with Weaves Select (AGIJS) title in CKC at the NACA trial. Great job, Sandy!! Kalli is going strong in agility. Three new titles are now following her name; CKC's Agility Intermediate (AGI) along with AAC's Advanced Agility Dog of Canada (AADC) and Starters Game Dog of Canada (SGDC). Not only that but she has moved up to now compete in Masters Jumpers and Masters Gamblers! CH Baywood Cutwater Calla Lily (aka Calla) achieved the prestigious title of Agility Trial Champion of Canada (ATChC) at OC Agility's AAC trial held on May 30th. Calla is now only the 6th Portie to achieve her ATChC! Baywood Dogs wants to congratulate Cindy Gamache and Calla on an amazing ride. The best is yet to come!!! Sally is now CH Baywood Mustang Sally which she achieved at the Battleford show in May of 2009. Brenda was recently recognised as a Long Service Member of the CKC Kennel Club. As the CKC stated recently: "Brenda, your twenty consecutive years as a member demonstrates your outstanding dedication and commitment to this Club. You, and the others who share the merit of Long Service membership, are truly the backbone and spirit of the CKC. Your years of Loyalty and Service is both admired and deeply appreciated. Thank you." Congratulations, Brenda, and may you celebrate 20 years more! Clipper just recently became CHAMPION Baywood Watch Me Fly by going Best of Breed in spite of his breeder (ahem... Brenda Brown) handling him in the ring. ;-) Congratulations to his owner Linda Propp. Clipper will finish off the shows he is already entered in as a Special Puppy! Brenda and 3 of her dogs went to the CKC Obedience and Rally trials Valentines' weekend. 3 dogs, 5 runs, 5 Q’s and 2 new TITLES!!! Arrow qualified 3 straight times and can now add Rally Excellent to his long list of titles. Kalli qualified 3 straight times to get her Companion Dog. Rita qualified in Rally B with a perfect score of 100. (She already has her title, just practicing in the ring now while waiting to be bred) BIG Brags for our little Sally girl! Sally (Baywood Mustang Sally) got her first conformation points by going Best of Breed over Specials her first day entered in her first ever show at BRCA Brenda, Sally, Kalli and Max headed off to the Portuguese Water Dog National Specialty 2008 in Abbotsford, BC. This is the biggest entry we have ever had for a National, 117 entries including 11 in the first ever PWD Obedience Trial. The Obedience Trial was put on by Brenda Brown and Robin Illuck, both of whom went on to win high in their respective classes! Sally won first in Junior Puppy Sweepstakes, First in Junior Puppy Females regular class, and RESERVE Female out of all the class females entered. This is a HUGE win for our little girl as there were several wonderful class females entered and it is a big honour to be chosen at 8 months old over the older females! Sally and Kalli won Conformation Brace. Kalli qualified in Novice B obedience with a 191.5 her first time ever in the ring and won High Novice Dog. Max would have had an amazing score until the last exercise and the last 5 seconds of the long down when there was a commotion outside the ring and he left the down to go to Cindy. Great effort by Max and several of the girls entered in the show were flirting up a storm with our big handsome boy :) |
